Pixels in the house

There are moments when one has been working too hard, its the fourth coffee of the night and you are seeing pixels. Although it may not be helpful, we have found that you can take it a step further and populate your life away from the screen with pixels too. Not being able to get away from those pesky pixels is a scary thought, but many of these items can add a fresh and funky splash of colour in any room!

‘Light…Bulb’

…as spoken by Gru in Despicable Me!

Inspiration from the Design Facility team

The naked lightbulb has always represented the moment a new idea is born, when a problem has been solved, which is why we love the Plumen! It is the perfect marriage between design and ecology – an energy saving lightbulb that changes its shape according to your perspective of it. The sculptural form was designed right here in London’s Shoreditch, by a design team consisting of Michael-George Hemus, Nicolas Roope, and Sam Wilkinson.

‘It’s strange that the lightbulb, an object synonymous with ideas, has been for so long almost entirely absent of imagination,’ Nicolas Roope.

For us, that the form is dependant upon viewpoint is a great representation of the creative design process. The design solution to any brief evolves according to the perspective of both designer and client!
